Strength for Dancers

Ready to reach the next level as a dancer? Whether you do hip-hop, ballet, latin, contemporary, or any other style, you need a stable and strong source to move from, just like any athlete would. Dance is an athletic skill that requires very intense body control and technique, and deep core strength is the underlying foundation. The core is designed for stability and also for explosive movement, so it is essential for dancers to maximize both in order to execute their most clean, powerful and fluid movements. Strength training not only improves a dancer's body control, but also:

  • Prevents overuse injuries

  • Protects joints and spinal muscles

  • Increases muscular endurance

  • Improves stability, alignment and balance

  • Increases flexibility with strength

  • Creates a lean and toned musculature

Individual Training: 60 minute sessions focused on strengthening from the inside out to give you a stable core foundation, and improve power and control for the aspects of your dancing that you need it most.
